What is Hanfu?Hanfu, the traditional Chinese costume of Han people, originated, developed, and disappeared all the way with the ups and downs of China, it was once the sign of the nationality, the name and meaning of China, but its history was written with blood, about 360 years ago, with forbidding and extincting in the land of China, it died...Han nationality became the only one who has no ethnical costume, during 56 nationalities in China. Hua Xia is another namer of Zhong guo(China), Hua means the gaiety of Han national costume, Xia means a feeling for propriety, in today's China, isn't it an irony? That when some uncultured people with their bad manners, when some Han people know nothing about their ethnical costume, then where's "Hua" and "Xia"? For hundreds of years it was forbidden, for hundreds of years it was forgotten, "history became legend, legend became myth", but now it's like the phoenix, went throught fire and agony, but finally it'll reborn! Hanfu pioneers say no to "cheong-sam" because it's not the costume of Han people, hanfu pioneers want to recall people of the elegant behaviors, the courtesy and find their own roots |
